There are days, or even just moments when the world seems to stop and all that surrounds us is the sound of J’s laughter. Tonight we had one of those moments. J was running around the family room, music playing on my phone (he did it without even unlocking it, kid knows my phone better than I do) and laughing. His laugh. Its squeaky and contagious and it sucked us in. Before we knew it the three of us were on the floor giggling. I found myself holding back tears to stay in the moment as I realized that this is what its about. It was fleeting and soon it was time to start dinner, but that minute, those laughs, those are the times I feel the most alive.
