Pregnancy Brain

Its back.  Short term memory loss, general forgetfulness and swelling.  When I was first pregnant with J I was reading all kinds of books, blogs, articles – anything I could get my hands on related to pregnancy.  One of the more shocking ‘side effects’ to me was the real concept of pregnancy brain.  I remember thinking…’No way, that’s not a thing’.  Well, it is.  Brain cells lost – that may never return, mind suddenly less capable of juggling the 10,000 things it used to and moms left trying to fathom how in an instant it happened.

Lucky for me, after J was born my brain seemed to get back to normal – I’m hoping the same happens with this little guy. With 14 weeks to go I’m feeling pretty great.  A bit of swelling, back pain and general exhaustion, but I think that’s normal.  Now I need to focus on getting this kiddo’s nursery ready and a name that C and I agree on.  We’ve got a couple in the hopper so just need to make a final decision.
