Expect the Unexpected!

Shop, fashion, booties, outfit

The unexpected, it’s the only thing that is for certain!

Hustle mom hustle! Some days certainly require more ingenuity than others.  Curve balls and unexpected moments that we have to bob and weave through happen all the time. How do we do it all? I’m not sure. We just do!

Last week I was in Las Vegas for our national conference. It was the largest conference in my field. The big one. All hands on deck. The whole shebang!

I got home late Sunday, exhausted. Looking forward to the week, it is spring break! I had too much to do to take the whole week off. There was catch up work to be done from last week and I’d need to prep for being out the later part of this week.  There is no trip planned this year since sports have completely taken over our lives. High School sports schedules are even more intense than travel sports.  But a few days off together, yes, that’s just what the doctor ordered!

I rolled out of bed on Monday and decided to go comfy. I threw on my gym shoes, jeans and a sweatshirt. This was not my usually work attire, but it had been a long few days and my eyes were still twitching from lack of sleep and dehydration. (Yes, I may have had a few cocktails in Vegas! Work hard/Play hard!)

I rolled into work at 9:00. That is right on time, but for me, it’s about an hour late! I needed a little extra time to sleep! The minute I walked in, one of my employees looked at me and said, “Oh no, you forgot about our meeting. We have a client meeting, at their office, at 11:00 and need to leave by 10!”

Okay, don’t panic! This is going to take some fast work! Target! I need to run to Target! Or better known in these moments as Targee Boutique.

I had to act fast and luckily Target is right next to my work. All I had was 20 minutes to shop, purchase and change! NO PROBLEM! I have had to enlist this fast shopping talent before.

I thought I would share some tips and tricks with all of you.

First, if you don’t have time to try it on, you will need to ensure that it will fit. Stay away from tight fitting items and choose a dark color. This is a surefire way to make sure it will flatter and fit. Since you are going with a darker color and plain pattern, always a good idea to find jewelry to dress it up. And finish off the look with a pair of cute shoes. In this case I chose these cute little booties.

I had black jeans on, so all of these items dressed them up perfectly and made for a very cute, client facing outfit!

Since it is spring, and it’s still freezing here, this was the perfect time to look at the clearance racks. Not only was I able to find everything quickly, but I didn’t have to break the bank. All of the above items; sweater, necklace, bracelet bundle and shoes for $49.

Sometimes we have to hustle a little more than others. I did it! Shopped, changed and made it to my meeting with 15 minutes to spare!

Hustle Mommas! Hustle! Happy Wednesday!
